Tbe second race in connection with the Daaedin Amateur Swimming Club was got off last ; evening st the Logan's Point Baths. Distauco, 100 yards. Theru was a targe attendance of the public, and the interest manifested in the raca was very encouraging to the officers of the club. The Dr«t heat was won by H. M-iitlaad (4sec), W. KicA(ccr) being 4ft away. J G. Macdouald ' (6seo) and P. Spraggon (lOatc) also started. : Time, SSsec. i ]?. Given (4Asec) won the Fooond heat, beat- ■ i?}g K. Spraggon and W. Maiti lnud (4aec), and I. Given (<Ujee). I This was a baautiful raef,'and was won on ! the touch by H. Mxitland, who just managed ■ to stave oil » rush of Boiton's, W. Rice being a ' yard away. Time 84sen. This winner gt>ts the Mayor's priza and counts 5 points, Boltou 3, s?ul Hice 1 pniiit. The total points are now : Mnitland 6, Given 5, 0. A. Holler 3, Boltou 3, Uioa 1. I Daring the interval between the third and final h.-at, a boys'.rare for two silver medala was swum, and produced an excellent linish, K<ic Moller (serarofa) winning by three inches fiom H. Dockery (4»ec). H. Macintosh (2seo), F. Haunigan (2Asoc), T. Nicholsoa (53ec), and H. Nicholls (2-i-e'c) also competed. Mr W. B. Byre acted as sturter in a manuer that proved him experienced in the work, while Mfifsrs Crosby Smith aad Gibb were efficient judges. • -• Tbe next evr-nt takes place at the St. Clair Batbs on Wednesday 22nd ilist., at 7.15 p.m. Distance 150/ dc, ior two prizes aud points.
