The half-yearly meeting of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand was held in the Freomasona* Hall to-night. There was a large attendance of members and visitors from all parts of the colony. The M.W- Grand 'Ma-ier (Bro. P. H. D. Bell) presided and was supported by the M.W. Bro Malcolm Niccol, P.G.M ; R W. Bro. George Fowlds, D.G.M.; R.W. Bro. H. J. Williams, P.D.G.M.; R.W. Bro. Dr L. G. Boor, P.G. Superintendent; aud a large liumber of other distinguished brethren. The business included the racepiiou of the statement of accounts and benevuleuco Ths report of the Board of General Purposes comprehensively reported the operr-tionn of the past hf.lfyear; and indicated 'u-iuro proposal;.. Various amendment--. Mere made by constitutional law, and notice of motion \va« given to remove the Grand Secretary's ofß<-e to Dunedin in April nextJ The utmost interest was manifested iv the proceeding*, and the various propossls submitted received deliberate consideration. The application of Lodpe Wairau to be placed in the Wellington district was acceded to. A resolution was paused fch-tt the Grand Lodge tsiert its sovereign rights ns the supreme Masonic governing body in and for the colony of Now Zealacd, and protest n^-n'iisi any attempt to invade tho territory.-of New Zealand as beiiiff contrary to well c-etabli-ibi d Maso._ic: l«.w.
