Sib,—l observe in your issue of Friday <_ local respocting some remarks made by Mr Bishop, S.M., regarding fhe unsatisfactory condition of the City Police Court;. . In the paragraph referred to I am represented as having stated tha* tha matter, was." going to bo taken up "by tbe Law Society. What I did state was that the Law Society had already written to' the' department about the matter, I believed, more than once. Owing, no doubt, fco the had acoustic properties of the court, referred to by Mr Bishop, yonr reporter apparently could not hear clearly what was said by me. All who are acquainted with the court in question mu-fc agree with his Worship that in its present state it is a disgrace to Dnnedin, and trying alike to tho bench, the bar, and the press.—l am, &c, Dunedin, Oat. 19.
