Receipts since last : meeting-^Geueral account, £42 3s 3d; wilier dp, £92 14s Id;—total, £134 iy B 4d. —Adopted. The Water Committee reported that Mr E Knewstubb had completed his contract fot the footbridge to the tower in a satisfactory manner apd in accordance with jpeciGcation. The concrete by wash was now. repaired, having re- # ceived a good coat of cement plaster from top to bottom, while the walis were washed with cemsntgrouting. Thecommitteefurtherreporteii that the defective .-water, service complained of by Mr William Subtqu had been remedied by putting in a three-quarter service to the pre* ' mises of Messrs Sutton and Thomson. The two old service* taken up can be used elsewhere.—Adopted. - GENERAL. ' ' Cr Weir called the attention of the Works Committee1 to the feuciDg at Flagstail Hill, snd suggested that a few loads of metal be spread iv Scotia street. , , Cr Hbndhs called attention to some necessary repairs to Harrington and Bernecia streets. The Mayor also called attention to the manure depot at Mussel Bay, which was becoming a serious nuisance. He aleo suggested that a subcommittee be formed to take into consideration the Local Government Bill, as there would be no meeting of the council before the bill would be discussed by Parliament.
