Cekistchuhch. July 2*. A private meeting of the Lyttelton "Wharf Labourers' Association was held last, evening to decida whether two members of the committee should be requested to retire. A motion in this direction was lost by 45 - votes to 35. The association is managed by a joint committee of men and employers, and the employers some time ago declined to take steps to register the association under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act. In consequence two committeemen took: steps in the formation of another society, which will be registered under the act. This action, it is alleged, mauced the employers' reoresentatives to decline t o act on the committee with the two men m question.
