The s.B. Kawatiri, from the West Coast, arrived at the Rattray street wharf at 9 a.m. yesterday. Sheleftthe Bluff at 4 p.m. of the 23rd inst,, and had light N:E. winds with clear cold weather to arrival. After landing and taking in cargo, she leftDunedin yesterday afternoon for Napier, via Oamaru and Timaru. ■ The s.s. Omapere arrived from Westport at 6 o'clock last pvening. She left Westport at 8 p.m. on the ISth, and experienced fine weather to Jackson Bead, thence:to "Wellington having to contend with a strong S.E. gale with heavy seas. The weather not having moiierated, the Omapere was compelled to postpone her departure from Saturday eveningly Sunday morning at 6 o'clock. She met a strong S.E. wind with heavy sea between Wellington and Lyttelton, the latter port being reached at 2 a.m, on the 22nd; she left again the same afternoon for-Timaru, callsd at Oamaru'on the 24th, and reached headquarters as above, having experienced fine weather from Lyttelton. The Omapere brings 20 tons of general cargo, and stopped at the Port and took in the Maori's transhipments. The s.s. Herald, from the AVest Coast ports, arrived at Dunedin at 1.40 p.m. yesterday. She left again m the afternoon for the West Coast ports. s Ji. AVareatea sails early this morning for the East Coast ports. The s.s. H-rald took on board a quantity of transhipments ex Maori for coastal ports at the Bowen pier yesterday. The s.s.
