Mr Thomas Callender has received a telegram from the Matakitaki Gold Dredging Company (Limited) intimating ISoz 4dwt 12gr sold for 124 hours' dredging. '
Mr Jabez Burton reports that the Roxburgh dredge washed up for the week 15)£oz gold, and the Ettrick dredg« 17oz for five days' \toiK. Mr John Keid bavins refused to allow prospecting on his estates as he considers tbat it would be wise to await legi-iation on the subject now pending, arrangements under signed agreement have (says the Mail) beon made by a syndicate consisting of a number of citizees of Oaniaru, with four experienced miners from Alexandra, to prospect on Mr Gardiner's Tapui estate.
