NEW ZEALAND POULTRY ASSOCIATION.

"Wellington, July 20 The annual meeting of the New Zealand Poultry Association was held to-day. MrE E. Bannister (Wellington) was elected presjl dent, and Mr Kesfeeven (Christchurch) secretary and treasurer. It was resolved by ten votes to seven that the next Championship show should be held at Dunedin. An amendment that it should be held at Auckland was lost. Important alterations were made in regard to nest years championships. The number of championships was reduced from 40 to 20 of the value of £8 each, which must bs won thrice before they become the property of the exhibitor. The championships were allotted as follows:—Twelve to the poultry classes, sis to pigeons, and two to canaries, as follows:— Uame, Dorkings, Hamburgs, Leghorns, Wjaudottes; Laugshans and Orointons (combined), Cochins, Brahmas. Plymouth Bocks; (Spanish, Andaiusians, and Miuorcas (combined); bantams, and best crake. Pigeons: Dragoons and carriers (cocks or hens), Antwerp, short-faced tumbler-, loDg-facc-d tumblers, faDtails aud turbits, Oriental frills and owls (combined). Canaries : Bsst Norwich in the show and best any other variety of canary in the show. Awards will be made for cockerels only in the poultry classes, and pigeons and canaries musfi have been hatched since Ist of July 1895. Furthermore, pigaons entered for the championship must wear a ring obtained from the New Zealand Pigeon Association as evidence of their bona fides. This decision means that no bird can in future obtain a championship for t-svo years in succession. This it is thought witl greatly encourage thebreeding of new stock.
