RIFLE COMPETITION.
The Peninsula Martini Club having amalgamated with the Portouello Rifle Club, the first competition for prizes was held on the Papnnui raugo on Saturda}'. The wind was light but shifty, and the light very changeable. The ranges were 200, 500, and 600 yards, seven shots at each. The following are the scores over 70:— Hep. Tl. .Hep. Tl. W. M'Cartney 33 —73 j J. Duckmanton 20 — SO Messrs J. Duckmanton and J. S. M'Caitney fired with Sniders, while the others used Martinis.
