OUR LOCAL M.H.R's.
TO THE EDITOR. Sic, —I was surprised, to find Mr Morrison, M.H.R., in his reply to an "Indignant Woman," assert thafc he was in S3*mpafchy with the Temperance party. He is reported in Hansard of July last as hsviDg stated that " during the late election in which be was returned he stood as an anti-prohibifcionisfc. He would nofc pledge himself to prohibition," &c. He also stated to the Rev. J. T. Hinton that "he was no wobbler," and also to the " Indignant Woman " thafc "he would let Bellamy's, the various committees, and other matters of that; nature, slide." Surely such statements as these will satisfy the Caversham electors, who are represented by one of greafc and world-wide experience. Some of his opponents assert that he is tbe handy tool of the senior member for Dunedin, but he proved by his reply to " Indignant Woman" that he is no dumb dog, and that we may rest assured that he will support Mr Seddon, independent of any other interest. Tbe Temperance part? may feel annoyed at Mr Morrison's curt method of dealing with their faddism when he coolly told them to "to let that flea stick to the wa'." The flea, like lhe prohibitionists, are nofc particular as to the discomforts of others provided they get all they want.—l am, &c. Green Island, May 10. Tommy Hawk.

Women have little use for needles, and spend their leisure time in gardening. — That; a sfceel shaving 450 ft in length could bs cut and preserved intact seems incredible.
