May 13. Kathleen Elizabeth M'Sweeney, aged two years,, was scalded to death at Belfast on Saturday evening through falling into a bath of boiling water. '' An inquest was held before Mr E. H. Carew, district coroner, yesterday afternoon upon the body of a child named Alfred.. Beatripe He'aley, 10 weeks old, who was ,found dead in bed early on Sunday morning. Tha mother retired to ■bed with the child. on Satnrday night,' and when she awoke in the morning found her dead .in her arms. The.father and another child also slept in the same bed. The deceased had been suffering for six weeks past from whooping cough, and the evidence of Dr John Macdonald •aent to show that the cause of death was collapse of the lung* from whooping cough. Alexander Healey (the father) and Annie Healey (the mother) were the other witnesses examined. The verdict of tho jury was in ' Accordance with the medical testimony. '
"" A man named John Wadswbrth was admitted into the hospital yesterday, suffering from a fracture of the left leg. He was holding a horse by tbe bridle and leading it over a bridge at the Nerth-East Valley, when it jerked its head np suddenly and knocked him over, causing tbe injury before mentioned.
