LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.

Wellington, May 2. ; At a Cabinet meeting held to-day the recommendation of the Land Purchase Board respecting the acquisition of the following lands ™£* nterhmry was aPProved:—Saltwater Creek; 2020 acres; three different properties at Raugiora, 103 acres, 65 acres, and 196 acres respectively ; two properties at Belfast, 88 acres and 100 acres respectively; Ashley Gorge, 718 acres and 440 acres respectively ; Waikari, 20 acres * Arawauui, 360 acres ; Bast Bank, 4610 acres' The acquisition of Clarke's estate, at Temuka," consisting of 3230 acres, has been approved The purchase of 4000 acres between Whakatane and Ruatoki, in the Auckland district has also been approved of.
