Mrs Richards, keepe? of a station at Kimberley.on the North Piciflc line, overheard a plot to wreck the night express, and wired to stop it. Ths robbers, becoming aware of what she had done, burst into tier office and fired at her, and then decamped. Mrs Richards, who returned \beir sbetu, was wounded. Two o£ Mrs Riciards's assailants were wounded.
