TEACHERS' EXAMINATIONS.

TAILOKESSES' UNION PICNIC. » Tha Tailoresses' Union picaic, which was held at Quarantine Island yesterday, proved a successful affair. About 800 people weru in ittendance, the steamers lona and Onslow being engaged to convey them to the island. Ihero various kinds of outdoor games were sstemporised, and a regular sports programme was also carried out, while not a few indulged n dancing, the music for which was supplied 3y the Engineers' Band. In the evening a promenade concert was held on the island, the details of the sports are as follow :— Members' Each. — Miss Holmes 1, Miss il'Gregor 2, Miss Swinton S.
