Invercargill, January 22. ■the J. 6. Ward Farmers' Association of New \Zealand (Limited) report having held their regular fortnightly stock sala at the InvercargUl yards fawlay. The entry was large in fat cattle, Including many pens of prims quality. The demand, however, was limited, and bidding slack. A few pens were turned " out unaold. Beat bullocks reached £9 2s 6d, medium £1 10s to £8 Es, small cows and heifers £A 10s to, £6 10s. At above rates the auctioneers cleared their entry. Only a small number of store cattle came forward, the most of them being young—one to three years old. For those with some breeding there was a fair demand, and prices ranged from BOs to 35s for the youngest and ££ 10s to £i for two-year-olds. Of dairy cows only a few came forward, and none were very prime. Prices ruled Irom £3 10s to £5. There is a fair demand Bow for new-calved, good cows for private use. There was only a small entry of fat sheep, and they were very medium quality, a large percentage being old ewes, which were rather neglected, and sold at 6s to Sa ; wethers, 7s to lls 6d for one very heavy pen of aged sheep. Store sheep were only, worth the prices they were bringing two months ago. Medium two-tooth, mixed sexes, 5s to 6s 6d each; email ewes (aged), with lambs at foot, 6s to 7s, lambs given in. On Saturday about 40 horse 3 were yarded, but there were very few good sorts* The demand, however, is still limited, and best draughts are now worth £1$ to £22 ; aged sorts dull of sale. Attention is directed to the sale on Saturday first of Messrs Organ and Co.'s horses and plant, and a large number of other horses are now advertised.

PROPERTY SALE.

(From Orm Own Correspondent.) Inyescargill, January 22. Messrs Tothill, Watson, and Co. report the sale of section 18, block 111. Kingston district, containing 197 alr 4p, at .£3 12s 6d per acre, to Mr W. D. Soper, jnn., the land being partly terrace and partly flat. This is a further indication that enterprise is by no means dead in this district.
