We have from time to time received comjnunications from valued subscribers intimating that they would be glad for a religious column to be started in the Witness. We are always anxious to suit our lreaders' tastes, so far as it is possible to do so, and no doubt this is one of the reasons of the great success which the «Vitness has hitherto enjoyed as a country and family paper; liat nntil now we have not seen onr way to provide a regular column of religious news, although we believe that there are a very large number Df homes in which a regular summary, with short sermonettes and devotional paragraphs, would be warmly welcomed. It is therefore with pleasure that we are able to intimate in this, the first issue for 1895, that we Lave now succeeded in arranging for a column such a3 that referred to. The gentleman who will h&ve change of it has special fitness for the work, and we haves no doubt that the column will be a success. Every shade of religiouß thought and life will, so far as it can be done, be represented, the intention beinj; to sympathetically notice aad report in brief, the best and most important of that which is going on esd k beiDg said in the religions world.
