OUR VOLUNTEERS.

On Saturday two teams from the Bait Taieri Rifles met two teams from the Dunedin Engineers. The first teams fired on the Engineers' range at Pelichet Bay, where the weather was favourable for shooting, and some good scores wero registered, especially by the local team, Engineer Thornton being top with 81. The second teams mat at Mosgiel, where a rather troublesome wind had to be reckoned with. Tho conditions of both mutches were— Seven shots at 200, 300, and 400 yards ; 11 men aside; lowest Bcorer counted out. The Engineers were victorious in both matches, as per scores below :—
