DIRECT MAIL SERVICE. The direct steamer Kaikoura will leave Wellington for Plymouth, via Rio de Janeiro, on Saturday, 29th inst. Mails will close as under :— For United Kingdom and foreign countries, &c, \ on Thursday, 27th, at 10.30 a.m. Parcels mails for the United Kingdom, &c. will close at 9.30 a.m. Late letters, mail van, North express, at 11 a.m. Due in London on the 10th February 18i)5. Mails for Cromarty and Puysegur Point close at Invercargill at 5 p.m. This Day (20th). The B.s. Kahu will leave Lytteltan for Chatham Islands on the 31st December at midnight. NOTICE. Tuesday, December 25, being a Post Office holiday, all mails usually despatched on that date trill be made up at 8 p.m. on Monday, 24th. A delivery of letters, &c. will be made over the counter by letter carriers, *c. from 9 to 10 p.m. on Monday, 24th. On the 2Bth (Boxing Day) the usual despatch of mails will be made up to 10 a.m., when the office will be closed.
