The Public Works. Committee recommends that Cr Dawson ba appointed chairman of the committee for the ensuing 12 months. Tbe city sur-' veyor has been instructed to act regarding the condition of tbe roadway approaches to the railway overbri-ge, as requested by the railway engineer ; to erect a trough at the corner of Stuart and Smith streets, as requested by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and by.
