The annual meeting of tho Dunediu United Friendly Societies' Dispensary was held in the Coffeo Pahce on Friday evening, the president (HcW. Woodland) ia the chair. Company's Benefit Society withdrawing their application for a renewal of contrspfc to supply them with drugs, having made other arrangements, Mr Si-icso, iv a few trecchsnfc remark*, oommented upou the action of a few members of tba lata committee which had lad to the withdrawal of ths society's business from fche di«pen3ary, and to the considerable loss thereby sustained. He thought the members of the new board should bo allowed to manage their affiiis oa bnsiness lines, and not be.haaapored by outside prejudices, wh-ca had no connection with tho affairs of a purely business concern such as tho dispensary was. ELECTION OP OPFIOE-BEAREIts. The eleation of ofiiw-fcearers was then proceeded with, and resulted as follows: —For president Messrs Melville ond Woodland were nominated, ilr Woodland withdrew, Mr Melville being thereupon declared elected, For vice-president Messrs A. Sligo snd C. Williams were nominated, Mr Sligo being elected. For treasurer Messrs P. Miller and Qaorga Scott were nomiuated. the ballot resulting in the election of Mr Miller. For sscretary Messrs James Maefie, George Scoones, and C, Grater were nominated. Mr Grater declined to stand, and Mr James MacSe was elected.

For board of directors Messrs Harrop, Adams. Reid, Arnold, Rosevear, Williams, Woodland, Calvert, Geddes, Dickson, Craw-. ford, Grater, C.-ouiu, Campbell, Haymes, Scott,' Wynn, Spaone*, IJ-uicceir, and Conuor wero proposal. Messrs Rosevear, (Advert, Diokso», and Grater declined nomination', aad Messrs | H-u-rop. Secuuec, Adams, Woodland, Reid, I Orawfoid, and Wynn wera elected in the order of their names.
