Official visits were received from the Loyal Cavershatn Lodge and District Officers. After disposing of the ordinary business the lodge went into harmony, several of the brethren contributing. N.G. Bro. Bremner (Loyal Caversham Lodge), P.P.G.M. Bro. Calvert (Loyal Albion Lodge, Bro. Fraser (Loyal Dunedin Lodge), N.G. Bra. Black (Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge), and Deputy Prov. G.M. Bro. Hopcroft, on behalf of the District Officers, responded to the toast of the visitors. Two candidatas were proposed for initiation. On Wednesday evening tho members of the Port Chalmers Garrison Band assembled at the residence of their conductar, Mr T. B. M'Conne ll — w ho is leaving for Napier—and presented him with a handsome silver cruet. Mr A. Millar made the presentation, and in a neat speech referred to the kindly feelings that had always existed between the conductor and the members. MrM'Connell, who was very much surprised, thanked the members for their present, which, he said, would always keep him in remembrance of the good times ho had spent with the band. After partakiDg of the good things provided by Mrs M'Conneil, and singing " For he's a jolly good fellow," the members dispersed after having spent a very enjoyable evening.
