A FIFTY-MILE BICYCLE RACE.

, ■ ■ Melbourne, October 2 The intercolonial 50-mile bicycle race on Saturday was won by Turner (of the Melbourne Club) by 19 seconds. There were 33 starters, of whom 12 finished. During the race Herman (of JBendigo) collided with a cart and fell, receiving severe injuries.

A Melbourne cablegram states thai the tracks are_ in splendid order, despite the heavy rain which fell. Light Artillery appeared yesterday morning, but it is doubtful whether he will ccc the starting post for the Derby.
