ALBION CRICKET CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Albion Cricket Club was held last evening in the Union street Schoolroom, and was fairly well attended. Mr A. H. Shelton occupied the chair in the absence of Mr M. Cohen. . . ; ...... . . .

The committee in their annual report, stated that although the blub was not so successful as in former years, owing to the loss of the majority of the previous year's eleven, the, season's cricket proved very enjoyable, and the club was able to meet all its fixtures. Manley, who had the greatest share of the bowling to do, coming second with an average of lO'bo runs for 34 wickets. Honeyman, with 6'6, divided the honours. J Croxford, with 53 runs, secured Mr R. Browns medal for the first member scoring 60 runs in an innings. The club again kept its engagements with the Otago Cricket Association in securing Mr Lawton's services as professional for -the season. The club was represented by its captain (Mr James Croxford) in the northern tour of the Otago cricket team, and he worthily upheld the, honour of the club. In conclusion, the committee urged on members the desirability of going in for regular practice in batting, bowling, and fielding. The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report, said it was matter for regret that the club should lose member after member after they had attained a certain proficiency. He had been in hopes that before now the club would have been in possession of a good ground, a matter which had engaged their attention for the past 15 years. He concluded by expressing his gratification at being made a life member. Mr B Ringer seconded the adoption of the report, which was carried.

Mr J. Allen, M.H.R., was re-elected president, Messrs M. Cohen. A. It. Shelton, and F. Kemplin vico-presidonts, Mr A. Spence secretary and treasurer, Messrs W. Collar and J. Black captain and deputy-captain respectively. The following were elected a committee:—Messrs T. Ritchie. IS. T. Ringer, J. Duncan, H S. White, and R. Hai:nson. Match Committee, for the First Eleven- - Messrs J. Black and T. B. Ringer. Messrs 11. S. White and A.. Duncan were appointed. auditor.?, and Messrs B. 1. Ringer and T. Ritchie delegates to the association. Twenty-one new members were elected.

Mr W. Elder wrote that Mr Bills had decided to give a silver cup for the best batsman in the Senior Cup matches, to be won under certain conditions. Ho further Btated that a trophy would be given to the beat bowler, conditions to be tho Bame as for batting.—The secretary was instructed to convey the club's thanks to tho donors. .
