WINTON RACES. (Fkom Ouh Own Correspondent.) Invercargill, November 10. There were about 300 people on the AVinton course to-day. The weather was very hot, and tho course dry and hard. The racing was ■equal to that of yesterday, and, considering tho small attendance, the totalisator was well patronised, Messrs Mason and Roberts sucseeding in putting through about LI2OO. The following are particulars of to-day's racing:— hurdles. 33—MrJ. Enwright's blk in Juno, aged, by Pertobe, 9.5 (Meredith) 1 51—Mr J. 'Pennant's b g Robin, 10.0 (Chapman) 2 31—Mr 11. Lambert's eh g Chevy, 9.0 (Shaw) 3 40 "Moonlight 10.10 also ran. Juno won by a dozen lengths with the greatest ease. Moonlight unseated his rider at the last hurdle but one. Time, 3min 5 l-ssec. Dividend, Ll 7s. MAIDEN* PLATE. 12—Mr R. Tapper's b m Miss May, Syrs (Blee) 1 54—Mr li. Jameson's b g Watermark 12-Mr 11. Telford's eg Cardigan (Johnston) 3 Also ran : 9 South Atlantic, 10 Dunlop, 26 Merry Boy, 2 The Vet, 36 Golden Moth, 2 Volley. A good race between the placed horse. A protest that Miss May had crossed and interfered with Watermark was disallowed. Time, 2min 22£ sec. Dividend, Ll2 Is. SHORTS HANDICAP. 63—Mr J. Richards' b g Surefoot, Uyrs, by Hil- ., arious—Lady of the Lake, 8.0 (M'Kenzie) 1 23—Mr Lambert's br h Sir Julius, 7.5 2 35—Mr A. Agnew's b g Loiter, 7.10 3 36 Waikaia also ran. Waikaia was left at the post. Surefoot won easily. Time, 52secs. Dividend, L 2 4s.

HANDICAP TIME TROT. 39—Mr Powell's b g Oreti, aged, 50sec 1 13—Mr Bridge's b m Biddy, sUsec 2 1(5 -Mr Agnew's b m Nelly No Eye, 40sec ... 3 30 Foremast scratch, 1 Banshee 20sec, 1 Waxy 20sec, 17 Native 20sec, 2 Minnie 20sec, 35 Joss lOsec, 3 Rock lOsec also ran. Oreti trotted the two miles without a break, and won easily by 20 lengths. Time, 6min 20 3-ssec. Dividend, L 3 125." Banshee's rider was cautioned for going to the post and not running. Native's rider (Robinson) is to appear before the stewards'this evening for deliberately galloping his horse in the race. PRINCE OF WALES' HANDICAP. 95—Mr M'Kellar's br g Milord, 6yrs, by Apremont, 5.5 (M'iCemiie) 1 16—Mr Telford's b m Dielytra, 7.2 (Telford) 2 2S—Mr Lambert's br h Sir Julius, aged, 6.10 (Nichol) 3 Milord won by a length with a lot in hand. Time, 2min 50|sec. Dividend, Ll 6s. SELLING RACE. 69—81r Lawson's c g Victory, S.I ... (M'Kenzie) 1 35—Mr Agnew's b g Loiter, 8.0 2 25—Mr Finn's br g John, 7-7 3 Won by a length. Time, lmiu 54-J*;sec. Dividend, Ll 13s. The winner was bought in at Lls, after which Sir Julius was sold to Mr M'Kellar at Lll. . WELTER HANDICAP. 42—Mr J. Richards' b g Surefoot, 9.0 (M'Kenzie) 1 78-Mr R. Ellis' b h Dunmore, 9.12 2 45—Mr A. Brennan's Billy, 9.7 ... ... ... 3 9 Moonlight also ran. From a good start Surefoot went to the front, Dunmore and Billy close up. These positions were kept throughout the race, Dunmore's rider making desperate efforts to overhaul Surefoot in the straight, but could not do so, and the latter won by two lengths. Time, Imin 59sec. Dividend, L 3 14s. The Consolation was won by Billy 8.0, with, Dunmore 8.12 second.
