TELEGRAMS.
(Peb United Press Association.) Auckland, February 5. A meeting of those interested in the fruit industry was held to-day, convened by a representative of Messrs E. Jacobs and Son, a Covent Garden firm, to consider the question of the systematic export of fruit to England, but no decision was come to. During the discussion, however, the opinion appeared to be almost unanimous that legislation would have to be passed to check the spread of the codlin moth pest. At a meeting of tho Auckland branch of the Irish National Federation a motion was proposed deploring the intemperate language used during the quarrel between the two sections of the Irish party at Home. The debate on the question was adjourned.
