Messrs Irvine and Stevenson, who were, we believe, the first firm in New Zealand to undertake the mannfaoture of marmalade, have sent: us a sample of the article neatly put up in' a small stone jar, which is also of local manufacture. The marmalade is of first-class quality, and from its excellence should speedily make its way in the market, apart from its claim to support on the grounds of being manufactured locally. Coughs and colds are not merely symptom?, they are likewise the forerunner of dangerous disease. It is madness, therefore, to neglect to promptly attend to a cough, however insignificant. The prolonged cough must of "necessity be injurious to the lungs, and consumption has probably in thousands of instances been nursed into existence by a sufferer waiting to see whether a cough would get worse. Elixir Vita (obtainable at most stores and druggists) is invaluable as an aid in attacking all lung and chest complaints, and should be established in every household. •
