Friday, May 15, (Before Messrs James Wright and Alexander Sligo, J.P'B.) DauNKENNEss.-For this offence William Nyall (for whom Mr A. C. Hanlon appeared) tml David Anderson were each fined ids, or 48 jours' imprisonment; and a first offender was ined ss, or 24 hours' imprisonment. Bajiaging Pbopebty.—Elizabeth Sfceele was :harged with breaking a pane of glass, valued at s, tbe property of John Thompson, on May 8, it Dunedin.—Mr A. C. Hanlon appeared for the lefindant, and stated that the prosecutor had greed to the case being adjourned, in order hat some settlement might be arrived at. defendant was willing to pay for the damage one.—The case was adjourned for a week ccordingly. ' Unbeqisiehed Dogs.—For keeping unegistered dogs in their possession, Martin ioyle and William Brindell were each fined ss; lenry Letha'oy was fined Z-i; Walter Rico 2s 3, and the following were each fined Is:— Pilliam F. C. Fail, Walter Hislop, Thomas ioyle, William Neave, Augustus Hamilton, and leorge Matheson.—A charge against Henry 'honipsou was dismissed, and charges against ohn Garrow and Robert Clifford respectively >ere adjourned for a fortnight. Hawking Without a License.—For hawk]g vegetables without a license, Joe Fon, ative of China, was fined ss. The Tramway Bye-law.—John' M'Clusbey, tram conduotor, was charged with allowing lore persons to travel on the rear platform of tramcar than was allowed by the license.—Mr forrison (the inspector) applied for permission > withdraw the information, as since the sumions had been issued he had learned that the inductor was not altogether to blame for the ifringement of the bye-law. The day was a wet ac, and while he was inside collecting the ires the passengers had got on.—Tho informs.on was withdrawn.
