DUNEDIN POULTRY, PIGEON, CANARY, AND DOG SOCIETY.
_ ■» The usual weekly meeting of the committee of the above society was held last evening, and attended by the president (Mr Loasby), in the chair, Messrs Anderson, Hides, Kalpb, Thomson, Ewing, Russell, Ovens, Fox, Carlton, and Dodds (secretary). Mr Brittenden sent an apology for absence. The Tbeasuree reported that the sub-com-mittee had received several offers to make the suite of furniture, and upon examination they found that Messrs Scoullar and Chisholm's was the most favourable, and they had accepted the same.—The action of the sub-committee was approved. Judges were appointed in a number of classes, and the secretary wbb instructed to write to other gentlemen asking if they would ast. Several more cash subscriptions and special prizes were announced, which latter it was decided to allocate after the entries had closed. The Treasurer announced that the society's finances were in a healthy state, there being now sufficient in hand to pay for wire coops, and leave a substantial balance in hand.
