Painter scored 23, and Grace 13. Ferris took five wickets for 45 runs, and Turner four for 32. | The Australians in their first innings made the fine score of 408, the principal scorers being Lyons 68, Turner 41, Jones 98, Trott 10a, Blackham 41. The bowling of the county team was very weak. In their second innings Gloucester lost six wisketa for 140 runs. W. G. Grace made 43, Radcliffe 45. Turner took four wickets for 44 runs, Ferris one for 38, and Trott three for 20. Owing to the showery weather the match was declared drawn. The Australians have arranged matches with Staffordshire on August 29 and 30, and Yorkshire on September 1, 2, and 3. July 13. In the match Australians v. Players of England, the Players scored 221 in their first innings. The Australians were all disposed of for 91 runs in their first innings.
