DOMESTIC SERVANTS' UNION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sin, —I see by this morning's Times that you quote the statement of a girl at Monday night's I meeting, to the effect that she had worked 18 hours per day for the last five years. On making inquiries about her, I find that ehe has not been known to keep a place for more than a couple of months at a time. Such statements as hers, which aro not borno out by facts, only tend to do a good cause harm. I find, also, that a good servant nearly always manages to keep her place for a long time, and | thero is a disposition on the part oE these to keep aloof from unions. There are also some very hard mistresses here. I heard to-day of some that want girla " that sre not religious," as they cannot spare them on Sunday mornings to go to church. For such as these we want unions.— l am, &c. ( i- Dunedin, July 10. Feed.
