RAILWAY MANAGEMENT.
TO TIIK KDITOIt. SIX,- A great dwil has been Baid lately about railway management, or shall I say more truly " mismanajjenirut." Let ma quote an iustnuce. To-day a client of mine ordered tome goods which were to l>9 sent on to Motgiel. My firm Bent them to the railway goods eheds. where they arrived by mi express car at 20 minutes to 5 o'clock pm. Can you believe it to ho possible that the authorities refused to receive the goods, alleging that they received nothing after i.30? Consequently I shall have to send them down again at 11 co6t to me of about 3s, which I certainly c.mnot recover from client. Comment on such a thing as thiß is useless.—l Dunediu, February 5. H. S. F/S!I, Ju.v. [The Railway department inform us that it has been the rule for a number of years not to receive goods after -1.30 p.m.—Ed. O.D.T.]
