Frozen Meats: Mutton market quiet. Canterbury mutton is worth sjd ; Wellington, 5d per lb Beef: Market depressed. New Zealand beef, hind quarters, are.-worth 4jd per lb." We have received from tho agents, Messrs NelU and Co. (Limited), a copy of the report of the United Insurance Compauy for the year ended 30th September 1839. The total receipts from fire and marine premlumß'and interest were £69,951. from which is deducted losses, reinsurances, expenses, So , £53,202, leaving £11,718 as profit for the year. To this la added the balance brought forward, £14,083, making a total availablebalanceof £25,831, Their usual 20per cent, dividend disposes of £7500, £1000 is added to reserve fond, and £11,331 is oarried forward. The reserve iunds and undivided profits now amount to £83,331, while tho paid-up capital Is only £37,500. 1 The amount subscribed is £300,000 with unlimited liability of shareholders. A. Potatoes ranged from 32s tid to 70s ; chaff, 27s (3d to 52s tid ; fowl wheat, 2s 8d to 2s lOd.
