From the revenue returns for September quarter it appears the customs, produced £410,427; stamps, £134,271; and railways^ £230,699; territorial revenue, £54,399. The^ principal items of expenditure were:—lnterest and sinking fund, £232,287; working railways, £166,021;, education, £88,007; post and telegraphs, £79,122. The total receipts, including previous balanco of £838,929, were £1,231,541, and the total expenditure £798,244. The land fond showed a deficit of £25,054. The amount standing to tbe credit of the public works fund is £1,154,625. -W ;
o The postal returns for tbe same quarter show; Receipts. £49,647;; telegraphs, £24,671. Government telegrams to the value of £4652 were also sent. . .-. '~;
