THE LEITH WARD ELECTION. TO THE EDITOR.
Sin, —I perceive, by an advertisement from Mr Johnston, that on account of " press of business" he is unable to make a personal canvass of the ward. ■ This statement is not very encouraging to the ratepayers, and I would suggest that our votes should be given freely in favour of Mr W. Swan, who, being now out of business, will have ample time at his command to look after the interests of the ratepayers.—l am, &c, September 9. ■ E. S.M.
