PRESENTATION.
A pleasing ceremony took place at the Kaikorai Valley on Monday evening, when Mr J. Stewart was ths recipient of a very handsome marble clock, bearing the following inscription:—"Presented to Mr James Stewart, by a few friends, on the occasion of hia marriage. September 9,1889." MrK.Bentham, in making the presentation, referred to the large circle of friends which Mr Stewart had gained, anil to the many goad qualities he had displayed during his many years' residence in the valley. Inadditiou to the clock, he desired to hand to him on behalf of b number of friends a handsome gold brooch for hiß intended. A very pleasant evening was spent, a number of toaßts being honoured and some capital iongs given, the party breaking up about midnight.
