HIGH SCHOOLS BOARD.
An adjourned meeting of the High Schools Board of Governors was held yesterday, and attended by Dr Stuart (chairman), DrShand, Dr Brown, and Mr H. Gourley (mayor). It was decided to offer for lease, in four lots, In Dunediu, orj December 4, the Strath-Taieri runs, at present numbered 21.1 and 205. ■The Secretary reported that part of section 15, block 11, Oaunru, had been advertised for lease ou the 2-'ndinst.—Approved. A letter was received from Dr Belcher stating that lie had sent out circulars to parentß re the establishment of a music school in connection with the Boys' High School, and that he was willing to co-operate with a committee, in the'matter of having such a achool established.—A committee, consisting of Dr Brown, the Key. A. K. Fitchett, and the chairman, wn> appointed to confer with the rector and arranee about fees, 4c. The tender of Walter Blaokie was accepted for the right to mine coal on run 171, Wyndham. A letter wns received from Miss Grant-tendering her resignation as teacher of English in the Girls' High School.- The resignation was accepted, and the chairman requested to convey to Miss Grant the appreciation of the board for her services.
