THE SEW HOY GOLD MINING COMPANY, AND THIS FRANKTON BEACH DREDGING COMPANY. TO THE EDITOR.

Sm, —In regard to tho statement that Mr George Fenwick is a shareholder in the Frankton Beach Dredging Company, I must, as one of the owners of tho properties vertded to that company, distinctly contradict the assertion. Not only has Mr Fenwick not a single shilling in the concern, but upon being invited to become a provisional director of the company ho refused, on the ground that he held a similar position in the Kawarau Big Beach Dredging Company. I feel I need not enter the lists to vindicate Mr Fenwick in this matter. He is so well known for straightforwardness and probity of character that any such statements are unlikely to obtain the slightest credence with the general public.— I am, &c. Dunedin, September 9. Edwin A. Pibks.
