MEETING IN WELLINGTON. (PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
~„ Wellington, July 26. An enthusiastic meeting of Wellington East and Wellington South electors, called by Messis Fisher and Izird, the respective members, was held this evening to discuss the provisions of the Representation Bill, introduced by the Government, and now Before the Houee. There was h very large attendance. The meeting wag adtlressed by Sir G. Grey, Messrs Izarii, Fish, and Taiwhang?., M.H.E's., and Mr T. K. Macdonald. The following resolutions were carried: — " 1. That this meeting strongly disapproves of . tbe provisions of the Rtpresgntaliou Bill and the action of the Government in attempting to ■deprive city electors of a fair proportion of representation, and .cordially thanks the members for Wellington East and South for opposing the measure." " 2. That this meeting commends with warm approval the action of those city and subittirban and other members who have so ably and zealously devoted themselves to the preservation of the political rights of city electors."
