I consider it a very satisfactory piece of work, taking into account the difficulties to be overcome in getting this result. It 1» especially excellent as regards perspective, in which science the late Mr Geo. O'Brien waß known to excel. . . The colouring or the eitreme distance Is In my opinion the best part of the picture. Near the foreground the colour is inclined to be rather crude, but that will in time be inclined to tone down and be more harmonious.
