HUGO'S BUFFALO MINSTRELS.

The announcement of an entire change of programme last night by Hugo's Buffalo Minstrels attracted the largest home of the season to the Princess' Theatre, standing room only being obtainable- and little ot It-at 8 o'clock. The programme is not »ueh an excellent one as that with which the season opened, and which drew crowded houses for Bix nights, but it hae all the requisites to provoke a good hearty laugh, and it should be able to fill the theatre during the few nights that it will be played. As usual, Mr Uharleß Hugo did the lion's Bbare of the work and created a good deal of merriment. His specialty," The Brown JL'ants." a parody upon " The Old Arm Chair," was much appreciated and loudly applauded, but the best things of the evening was the mock-tragic performance given In response to a recall, and received with shrieks of laughter. In a couple of farces also he was genuinely droll. Of the new features of the programme the mo»t noteworthy was an exhibition by thn Australian Tom Thumb of hiß agility on the slack wire. After walking forwards and backwards along the wire, balancing himself by means of a long pole, he very cleverly performed a violent swinging exercise, ami iinallv evoksd loud applause by c-.rrying a boy, who was larger than himself, the length of the wire and back again. Miss Prleeilla Verne sang several character songs in her popular Btyle, and contributed largely to the success of a couple of short sketches. If iss Cleveland awoke old memories by a pleasant rendering of " Come, buy my flowers," and took part with Miss Warren in a pretty duet, entitled "In the dusk of the twilight ; ■' Miss Warren also sang " The song that reached my heart ( ' with great expression; and Miss Devereux, besides slngiug a waltz song pleasantly, joined with Mr Skeatß in the popular "Sol-fa" duet, and asßiatcd Mibs Verne in one of her sketches. Mr Collyer and Mr Godfrey furnished a duet on the whistles and banjo, and M r Collyer also contributed a comic song. The dnnchig of Mr Tracey and Mr Waldey found many admirers, and the first mentioned performer was.inaddition, seen to advantage inn farce. Mr Will Hugo proved a worthy coadjutor to his brother inthefartea, in the last of which Mr Godfrey arid Tom Thumb, us a negro girl and her lover, were very funny, for..-iblv representing " the long and the short of it." Vi-ry little t.ime was cut to waste in intervals, so Hint the performance was concluded at such an hour Mint tho audience wera enabled—such of them who desired - to catch the last trams.
