SHOOTING COMPETITION.
A return match was fired on Saturday last at tho range, Sandfly Bay, between teams of the Peninsula Rifles and the Portobello Rifle Club respectively. The day was fine, but tho light somewhat bad ; nevertheless some , fair shooting was made, as will be seen from the scores. Tho result was a win for the club, who beat the volunteers by 52 points. The first match, it will be remembered, was also won by the club, the respective scores beiug: Volunteers 436, club 46.4. On Saturday the totals were: Volunteers 567, club 619, thus showing a considerable improvement in both teams. The following are the scores.
