MR JUSTICE RICHMOND ON THE WATERS BANKRUPTCY CASE.

His Honor Justice Richmond tuok the occasion this morning of cjuii: =1 applying for his costs in defending W. R. Waters in the Bankruptcy Court roujnily, to stigmatise that bankruptcy as a mo it disgraceful one. Although tho law had not 1.. 211 able to reach the debtor, his Honor Irghly compliment--1 Mr SkerroU on his able defuuee of his client, but re .luced the costs applied forto 25 guineas. The oflicialassignee's solicitor's costs of -10 guiuess wuru allowed, and Mr Skerrett had applied for the same amount. Another of the cas; s which have arisen out of Waters' baukiuptey—the Northern Land, Loan and Building Compniy v. City Advances and Deposit Company—is to be heard in the Supreme Court to-mowow, a'l effort) to bring about a settlement having proved unavailing.
