Wool.—Since our last, cablegrams reporting the opening of Antwerp sales at a level of prices equal to the closing rates ot the September series in i.ondon 11111:1 bo very satisfactory to woolgrowers. There are also c-italogues t.i hand of recent auctions in MeW Uourne, aud, judging by the sm,dl quantity passed! ill at these sa e3, also the prices realised, there is every reason to expect active competition at our periodical sales in this market; ami we anticipate th .t parcels comlugforward forpublic sale here will command full values. An Australian monthly drcul.tr >tates tha'. tho production of croasbrtd wools there is oil the decrease, a great many of tho flockowners having bred back almost outi.ely to the m«i mo. This ought to lavour those of our growers »*ho produce this elaasof wool. Slieep3kins.-ahero was 11 good attendance ot Invars i.t the usual weekly auctions on Monday, when g>od catalogue were offered. it.ibbit&liius.— lhia market Is much weaker, and although there arc buyers for all offering, prices for suckers, smitll ishins, Inferior, and mixed low-season skins are ridiculously low. Very lew full-furred winter greys come forward, and e< en for these prices nre lower. Prices range as follows:—For suckers nad small, id to 2d; inlerior and mixed, 3d to 4jd; low season, (id ro8d; medium to good well-furred skins, lOd to 12jd. llidea.—The market is unchanged; uo improvement can be reported iv either demand or values. Shippers even at the present low prices still deellue to operate, leaving the iield entirely in the hands of local tnimers, who c.mtinue to relieve the maiket of all offeicd. We quote for inferior and bulls, ljd to 2d; light, 2jd to 2§d; uieUiuin, 2^d to 3d; heavy ) t'e Imm cvi s, clean, free from cheeks aud shanks), 3Jd to 2»d per lb. talluw. A moderate demandcontinu'stoexißt tor local requirements, but our market shows no sign ot improvement.; pries, lnw>ver, are maintained at Che low raies receutly ruling. From cablegianis received this week the tonu of thu London market show* some signs of improvement, mid it must be gratifying to pioductr» to uutice be6t uiuttuu tallow quoted there at up to £30 per ton, a ri=o of £3 per ton during thu last few days, which, if permanent, must affect value* here to the same extent. Grain.—Wheat: There is a slight improvement in the demand this ween, but the inquiry is coniiiud to local millers, whu only purchase • paringlj', and all hough a few Bales are parsing the quantity put thro gli is very limited. IT:ces continue firm, and stocks in town are almos' cleared out, a.iy who hold aie asking «n ad-ance on late rates. Australian markets offer no inducements to »Uippers, and, in the absence- of a demand for shipment, the market is considerably weaker, p ices having a further dowuwaid tendency. Transactions m the meantime are limitid to the supply of local requirments, which at this season of the year are very light. St icks are not b-iug mucli reduced, and some holders, influenced by lato advices from Melbourne and Sydney, are accepting lo*er rat-s. Grass Seed.—There is nothing doing in ryegrass, and cocksfoot is al3o quiet at 4£d per lb. Butter. GRAIN REPORT.

Messrs Samdel, Obii and Co., Stafford street, report for the week ending November 17 as follows: —

Wheat.—The prices for this cereal are still well maintained a d if anything firmer than last w.ek, as stock in the North are so rtduco that none can now be spired for the South, so that holders will still realise good prices. Prime milling is in most request, while interior Is not so much in demand. We quote prime milling velvet and red straw, 4a lOd to 5n Id; Tuscan, s*; medium, 4b fid to 4s 9d; inferior and fowls* feed. 3s lOd to 4s 4d.

Oats.—Values have again receded, and prices are now coming to the level of speculators, advantages of which has already been taken. Advices from Mt-lbour c this afternoonare that the mar ket there is stil falling, while Sydney and along the coast show no disposition whatever to want any. 'Jhere are still large supplies coming forward. Locally there is little demand, as green leed is plentiful. Our sales during the week have been about 8500 bushels at th« following quotations: Prime milling up to Is lOjd; short bright heavy feed, 1b Bdto Is lod; medium, Is6dtols74d. Barley.—There is practically no demand for it, and some malting parcels which are offering are unsuitable for the purpose, it bting so late in th« season. Prices nominal - malting up to 3s ; milling, 2s 8d feed. 2s 3d to 2s 6d, and not much inquiry. Grass seed.—Nothing doing in ryegrasi, but still a few small linei of cocksfoot going off at up to 4jd per lb. ■

THE SEED MARKET.

Messrs Niamo and Blair report for the week ending November 17:— ■ The trade in seeds continues steady; orders are coming in freely for turnip seeds of sorts, and prices remain without alteration. By grass Seed.—Machine-dressed is worth 5s 3d to 3s (id; well-cleaned farmers' samples, 4s 6d to 4s «d. Cocksfoot is still passing into consumption, and prices are at i Jd to 4}d. Clovers may be considered easier in price as the season is advanc d, and white is in full supply. From some unexplained c^use a very small demand has existed for white this year, and it is the only variety likely to be held over.
