SMOKE CONCERT.

Tho lnst smoke concert of the Benson was given in tho Choral Hull last, opening, and was largely attended. Tho concert opened with an overturn (" Bohemian Girl") by tho Dunedin Orchestral Association, who also gave three other selections during the evening, " Patience" being tlie most favourably received. Mr J. Coombs contributed a violin solo {" Lombard!"), for which he secured an imperntiveeneore, to which he responded by playing Ernst's " Eligie." The only solist wa9 Mr Densem, who sang "Anchored" and "Tim Uugler," the latter being his best eff rt. The Dunedin ..iedertafel sang lour part-songs very tastefully, all of which were groitly appicciatecl, especiall, the last one—" On tho March" by Becker. At the coiiciWon of the eonoert Mr 11. J.
