M'Kinlay made 23 before he was caught by James Kuox off Claffey. The innings closed for 73 runs. The Wanderers only managed to make lUruns before the last wicket fell, principally owing to the splendid bowling of Hope, who took 7of the 10 wickets for no runs. The cup match North Dunedin v. Grange was concluded on Saturday, and after one of the most exciting games ever played here resulted in a tie, both sides scoring 121 in the two innings. At the conclusion of last Saturday's play the scores were:—Grange, 62; North Dunedin, 66 for 9 wickets. Tho North Dunedin continued their innings, which closed for 73, Grenfell being not out with 20, and Robertson bowled for 3. The Grange iv their second innings put together 59, thus leaving the North Dunedin with 49 to get to win. They, however, only succeeded in making 48, the last man being run ont in attempting to make the required "one." The bowling of J. Macfarlano and P. Turnbuli for their respective sides was very good, while the former by his patient batting saved his side from what seemed certain defeat. A word of praise is due to A. Grieve for his splendid fielding throughout the afternoon. The following are thescores:— GHANGK. First Innings ~ 02 Second Innings. Js The Cup match Albions v. Warehousemen was concluded on Saturday, and resulted in a very exciting finish, the Warehousemen only winning the match by 4 runs. For the Albions, Thomson (17) and Parker (20), aud for the Warehousemen, Williams (18) and Hadfield (10) were the ouly players to reach double figures. Subjoined are the scores:—

For the Albion Carr's average is very goodfirst innings: 60 balls, 28 runs, 7 wickets; second innings: 90 balls, 26 runs, 9 wickets. For the Warehousemen, Hadfield (72 balls, 22 runs, 6 wickets) and Gresham (60 balls, 20 runs, 6 wickets) bowled splendidly. The fielding of the Warehousemen was above the average, three of the Albion wickets being thrown out by smart returns from the field. Phojnix Eleven v. Sixteen of Roslyn. This match was concluded on Saturday last on the Caledonian ground, resultingin a win for the former by 62 runs. That 16 players should have been only able to put up 32 runs seems surprising. They show far better form with the bat on their own ground, and should have shown » bolder front even to the persistent and unerring attack that was made upon them. Ten wickets for 10 is an excellent record on a wicket that played as true as a hair. Montgomery, though not successful in securing a wicket, did yeoman's service against the wjnd. For the losers Jarvis and Reid did best with the ball, securing four and three wickets respectively at trifling cost; while none of the team did well with the bat, no less than four of them being run out. At the close of the play on the previous Saturday three of the Fhccnix's wickets had fallen for about 20 runs. C. Beck, with 14 (not out), did not put in an appearanco on Saturday. Haskell (22), G. Clark (18, not out), Frith (11), and Montgomery (10) reached double figures. The former is steadily pressing to the fore in the batting ranks, while in fielding he is much improved. Clarke's 18 and 4 (not out) augured something more to follow. Several of his forward drives were excellently timed. Beverstock deserves credit for the splendid condition of the ground; at no time has it ever appeared to better advantage so early in the season. Phojnix.—Seeord Innings. This match was concluded on Saturday, resulting in a victory for the Excelsior by eight wickets. For the School Fulton contributed 62, his innings being tho feature of the match. Although not faultless, his hitting was very good on the wholo. Clapeott was tho only other player for the School who mado auy stand, compiling a very carefully got 12. For the Excelsior Geddes, Cooper, Aitken, Skitch, Fleming, and Shepard batted well. Leith's wicket-keeping was much admired, and the way he dismissed several players places him among tho best mou Dunedin ever possessed.

The match Wanderers Second v. Waverley Second was played on, the Asylum ground, and resulted in a rather easy win for the Wanderers. The scores were:—Wanderers, 97; Waverley, 40, and three wickets down for 12. For the Waverley, Lees got most of the wickets, but none of their batsmen succeeded in getting into double figures. For the Wanderers, Brodrick and Esquilant divided the bowling honours, the former getting 6 wickets for 5 and the latter 9 for 19; while Fitzpatrick and Deaker made 25 and 36 respectively.

Tho Excelsior Second defeated the Warehousemen Second by 14 runs and one wicket, the scores being—Warehousemen, 45; Excelsior, 59 for 9 wickets. For the Warehousemen Kirkpatrick, Smyth, and Blakely batted well, as did Hamel (14), Best (14, not out), Briggs, and Stewart for the Excelsior. The match North Dunedin Second v. Clydesdale First, played on the North ground on Saturday, resulted ia a draw greatly in favour of the former, the scores being: North Dunedin 135, Clydesdale 46 for 7 wickets. The principal contributors were :For North Dunedin, Kelly 27, G. Grieve 25, Lowry 24, Haig 15, M'VVilliams 10; for Clydesdale, Echoff 8 (not out), Gay G, and Lucas 6. Davis, Lowry, Lucas, and Currie bowled well for tneir respective qidea. The Southern Second beat the Albion Second by 15 runs; thescores being: Southern 45, Albion 30. For the Southern, Colclough with 21, and for the Albion, Shelton with 0 were the chief scorers. For the Southerners, Stenhouse and Clarke bowkd very well, while Shelton for the Albion did good service. A match between the Phcenix and Second Eleven of the Wanderers was played on the Caledonian ground on Saturday last. The former totted up 65 runs in their first innings, and were responded to by their opponents to the tune of 60. For the victors Malcolm (not out, with 12), A Beck (12), and James (10) reached double figures; while Budge and Knox knocked up—the former 21 and the latter 12 very quickly. In bowling A. Beck towered head and shoulders above his compeers with six wickets for 10 runs. The wicket played very well. We understand that no list of second eleven matches was arranged by the Phcenix. Clubs having open dates should communicate with the secretary. Tho Carisbrook Club had a most enjoyable game on Saturday, the match being the Firat Eleven v. Next Twenty-two. The Eleven taking the field had very little difficulty in disposing of their numerous opponents. Cooke, Fitzgerald, and Maitland were the only ones to get into double figures. Stronach and Lees batted very nicely. The fielding of the Eleven was an improvement on the previous Saturday, but still lacks that smartness that used to be the pride of a Carisbrook eleven. It is to be hoped that players will give more attention to this department of the game. In bowling Kitt with 11 wickets for 19 runs and Dixon 5 for 12 carried off the honours. The Eleven wanting 66 runs to win had only 45 minutes to do it in, but piled on the runs at a great pace, and at the call of time bar mndo 61 with only one wicket down—a very good performance with 22 in the field. Dixon, Harper, and Vallange kept their reputation as batsmen. Scores:—
