PRINCESS THEATRE.

" Called Back" was played at the Princess Theatro for the Inst time last night, and despite tho wretched weather there was a good attendance. The performance, as on former occasions, passed oil' very successfully, the audience maintaining almost a breathless interest in tho play from the rise to the fall of the curtain.

To-night " My Partner " is to bo placed upon the stage, with Mr Riginold in the role of Joe Saunders. The Melbourne Daily Telegraph, in noticing the production of the play in that city, said:—"ln Mr Georgo Kiguold's impersonation of Joo Saunders, the rugged Californian miner, we witness a keen yet delicato study of the workings of the highest and noblest emotions in the soul of a man who is ouly au uncouth sou of the Sierras, Joe is rough, unpolished, hasty in word anti blow, and with many an ugly cxcresceuce- on his character to dim his virtues, but he has a vivid sense of social justice, he is unfalteringly faithful to the imperishable moral instincts that aro implanted iv us all, and he has a high chivalrous respect for the honour and the purity of womanhood. He may be rude and yauche in maimer, but hn is not vicious or criminal in soul. His love for his partuer, Ned Singleton, is as deep and imperishable us was that of the Greek Pythias for his friend Damon, and ho is capable of rising to such heights of self-sacrifice as raise him at once out of the ruck of commonplace men."
