The cricket match Australians v. Gloucestershire was continued to-day at Clifton. The Australians continued their firsfinnings, v/hich closed for 211, or 9 runs less than their opponents scored. The Home team then went in for their second innings, and at the conclusion of the day's play had put together l'J(> runs for the loss of live wickets. Tlie principal scores made to-day were:— For the Australians—Jones (caught), 67; and Blackham (bowled) fiO. For Gloucester, Brain scored 70.
August 7. (Received August 9, at 0.30 a.m.;
The cricket match Australians v. Gloucestershire was concluded to-day at Clifton. The Home team, with five wickets down for 1!)(!, continued their innings, which closed for i!SB, W. G. Grace playing a splendid game for 110. The Australians, requiring 3GB runs to win, went in for their second innings, and when play was stopped had scored 173 for live wickets. Giffen (caught, 43) and Scott (bowled, 75) were the most successful batsmen. The match was declared drawn.
