CEEDITOES' MEETING.
RE ALEXANDER JACK.
The adjourned meeting of the creditors of Alexander Jack was held yesterday.
The Assignee reported that since the previous meeting property sold had realised L 24, which left him with L 79, less some allowance for preparing a lease. Only a few book debts remained to be realised. If any creditor felt disposed to give the Llls for which Air Gillies held a second mortgage he could take the property, otherwise Mr Gillies was entitled to a conveyance.
It was proposed that the bankrupt be allowed to retain furniture, tools, &c, to the value of L6O, but an amendment by Mr Gillies that bankrupt; retain his tools except those in the sale list, also his family's clothing and the blankets and bedding, and that the remainder of the furniture be sold for the benefit of the creditors, was declared carried by value. After considerable discussion baukrupt was allowed a fortnight's time with a view to getting some friend to offer a lump sum to get his farniture protected. The meeting ■ then adjourned sine die.
