AUSTRALIANS v. NOTTS.
London, May 19. (deceived May 20, at 7.15 p.m.)
The cricket match Australians v. Notts was continued at Nottingham to-day. The rain which prevailed for some days past cleared off, and the weather was fine during the match. The attendance was consequently good and the wicket had recovered from the wet and was fairly lively. The bowling of Hie Australian team was much admired, being as a rule dead on the wicket, but they seem hardly to work together yet. Their fielding is rather weak and several good chances were missed. The Australians, who, the previous evening had one wicket down for 50, resumed their innings and put together 109 before they were disposed of. The principal scorers were : Bonnor (bowled) 2S, Scott (bowled) 23, Garrett (run out) 30 The Home team then went to the wickets and made 101, the most prominent rungetturs being Selby (caught) 22, Shacklock (bowled) 14, Shaw (not out) 15, Sherwin (bowled) 14. The Australians went in for their second innings and when time was called, they had scored 12 for two wickets. As fhe first day was lost on account of the rain the match could not be played out. A draw was therefore declared.
