CREDITORS' MEETINGS.

A meeting of creditors in the estate of W. F. Ingram, blacksmith, of Taieri Ferry, was hold in the Official Assigue's office yesterday morning.
Ihe bankrupt's statement showed: Debts £96 7s _Gd; assets, £s;—deficiency,s;—deficiency, £91 7s 6d 1 nncipal creditors: J. Garden, £16; Dr Martin, £; , ,-, J npson> £7 ■> P- R- Tiltman, £7; W. Tumbull, £6 5s ;Dr AVatson, £5; F. Lange and °1\ £5L T- steel, £5; trustee in J.M'Wie's estate, £5.
From questions put to the bankrupt, it appeared that he had been unfortunate in several respects, having had illness to contend with, and very unsteady work. The creditors present expressed sympathy with the debtor The Assignee said there were two uses of the Bankruptcy Act-one to protect creditors, and another to afford relief to debtors whose position was not owing to any fault of their own mis seemed one of the latter cases i° ni t r,^ otion o£ Mr Tiltman' it was resolved— lhat.believing the bankrupt's position to be the result, of sheer misfortune, this meeting recommend his discharge "
